Last Line Last Night

I’m working on the epilogue for ACROSS THE LINE, Book 2 in the In The Zone series. This is the second try for me. The first epilogue wasn’t working at all. But don’t worry. There aren’t any spoilers in this little peek.

“Here’s the menu I chose.” He pulled a card out of his pocket and handed it to her.

Parisian Spring Rolls; Shitake Mushroom, Pork and Black Truffle Fried Won Tons; Dragon Soup; Empress Chicken; Peking Foie Gras; Seared Beef Medallions; Honey Garlic Spare Ribs; Firecracker Fish; Prawns in White Wine;  and for dessert, Chocolate Tofu Napoleons.

Yeah, there’s a lot of food in this book.

“I did not steal your damned lucky socks.” Dev continued basting the ribs. “I would never in a million years take anyone’s socks. Least of all yours.”
Alex scoffed. “All I know is, one minute they’re there and the next, after I give a one-minute interview, they’re gone.”
“Those were my socks. Yours were on the floor. Like all your other gear.”
“Oh yeah? Then why’d we lose the game?” Alex shot back. “Answer me that.”

“Stop staring at me,” she said, resisting the urge to cover herself.

“I can’t help it,” he said. “Sometimes my eyes go rogue and I can’t control them. This is one of those times. Here, you can stare at me back.” He pulled off his shirt.

Last Line Last Night #1

A while ago I was posting the last line I wrote the night before. I thought that might be a fun feature to bring back. It doesn’t take up a lot of your time or mine. 🙂 This is from my work-in-progress, the hockey book, of course.

“Wild horses couldn’t drag me out of this bed.”
