Thursday 3: The Willies

Three creatures that give me the willies:

1. Leeches
2. Maggots
3. Young kids who are allowed to get their food from the buffet without their parent’s supervision.

I’m serious about that last one. I once saw a kid stick her finger up the frozen yogurt dispenser at the MGM Grand Hotel buffet for a taster. Appalled, I told her not to do that. She looked at me like I was confused/crazy. (Who is this strange woman actually talking to me?) Needless to say, I did not subsequently get myself any frozen yogurt.

  1. I’d add mice and rats to the list. I’m okay until they head in my direction. I prefer to keep a healthy distance.

    I’ve never come across young kids getting their food by themselves. I would have probably told her off too.

  4. Say, what happened to the other ten? LOL. Or is this the short version and a new trend. I like it! I always have trouble finding 13 things. I may just adopt the practice.

  6. I’m with you on those too! I’ll never be able to eat frozen yogurt or that yummy soft serve ice cream from a buffet again.

  9. Wild mice and rats…YUCK. From the pet store as pets, they’re okay.

    Oh, I never do 13 anymore. LIke you said, it was always really hard to come up with that many. I blog religiously 5 times a week, so I figure I can slack off on Thursday. 😉

    Oh, yeah, snot eating kids WAY disgusting. As an elementary school teacher, I saw plenty of that.

  11. And I eat at the MGM Grand Buffet ever time I road trip to Vegas for the LA Kings exhibition hockey games at the arena there. I don’t think that’s happening next time.

  12. Oh, Robbie, I’m sure stuff like that happens at all buffets. I still eat at them occasionally. Can’t resist. Try not to think about unaccompanied kids.
